‘Every person you meet is either repeating a cycle of generational trauma or carrying the burden of breaking cycles.’
In other words..
Simply, we inherit habits, beliefs, customs.. from society, our parents, which they inherited from their parents, accepting them as normal way of living the life. And so on UNTIL a person appears who will begin to question all that. Commonly known as ‘the black sheep’.
This person will question everything because they will be aware that many inherited things are simply not healthy. They will (try to) break all those unhealthy patterns which have been running through the generations over the years.
Who gave that name and why black sheep? Well, those for whom this courage does not suit, who live in an established, unhealthy way, passing it on to future generations. Such people have forgotten their courage and it is much easier to call others crazy, instead of following their steps. As a result, instead of receiving support, brave people who dare to change things for the better, will be anathematized, ridiculed, condemned, and will receive derogatory, disrespectful names.
If you are a black sheep, I salute you with a deep bow.
Don’t confuse habitual with normal. Just because something is habitual doesn’t mean it’s normal. And you accept something as normal because it’s been repeated so many times that it’s become habitual.
The thing is that.. we all know if something doesn’t feel right. Speaking about unhealthy patterns in families, most people refuse to work on them by facing them and then changing them. Firstly it’s a hard work and again because of the common belief: ‘They’re family’.. which is nothing but an excuse. Just because ‘they’re family’ doesn’t mean you should accept harmful behavior as something normal.
The reason why they choose to close their eyes is some kind of fear.. and lack of awareness.
Dear, doing nothing regarding the damaging situation and your life, you’re PARTICIPATING in all that. Not only you’re participating (accomplice) and support that way of living but you literally decide to live in one very unhealthy environment, which will reflect not only on your life, but also on the lives of others.
When something doesn’t feel right, SPEAK UP. You’re not only standing up for yourself, but also for others and for future generations.
And that my dear.. means you’re changing the world. Change the world by doing things locally which will be reflected globally.
This isn’t the only text. But today, it might be enough.
