Life is uncertain, but death is not

‘Those who died yesterday had plans for this morning. And those who died this morning had plans for tonight. Don’t take life for granted. In the blink of an eye everything can change. So forgive often and love with all your heart. You never know when you may not have that chance again.’

Nothing is certain. Life is uncertain, but death is not.

And I know that many shudder at the very mention of death and are afraid of it.. but I will tell you one thing:

You are not afraid of death per se, no matter how ‘terrible’ it may seem.

What truly frightens you is the possibility of dying without having lived the life you wanted to live.

Because what gives you that terrible feeling is the realization that you are wasting your life.

You carry so many dreams within you.. yet you have made so few of them happen.

You have the feeling that you are surviving while time keeps passing.

And then you often panic, because you keep choosing fear over courage and will.

Big desires require courage, trust in yourself and the willingness to change.

They require listening to your heart.

And with change often come the judgments of others, their opinions, their criticism.. and all of that creates even more chaos.

So you tell yourself that you are waiting for the perfect moment.. A moment that will never come.

Because you are the one who needs to create it.

And then you think you won’t have time.. and that death will take away all those possibilities.

But in reality, you are the one who creates time for what truly matters to you.

People reach a certain age and suddenly realize they spent most of their lives living through fear and regret.

They regret the emotions they never expressed and the words they never said.

They regret not having the courage to follow their hearts.

They regret pleasing everyone else while forgetting themselves.

They regret spending their lives beside someone they do not love while loving someone else only in their thoughts.

They regret living in fear of change, fear of other people’s opinions and fear of judgment.

And then, when the thought of death appears.. the only thing they want is somehow to turn back time and correct everything they can suddenly see so clearly.

But life only moves in one direction. Forward.

And the best time to start living differently is while you are still here.

So listen to me.

You never know what tomorrow holds. You do not even know what may happen within the next hour.

All you truly have is THIS PRESENT MOMENT..

A moment that will become the past by the time you finish reading this sentence.

Make plans, but do not live in the future.

Never miss an opportunity to tell people how you feel about them.

TIME.

Make sure you know how you spend your time. Dedicated time is one of the most valuable gifts you can both receive and give. You never know how much time you have left.

Be mindful of that.

HEALTH.

Take care of yourself. Mentally, first of all. You can eat the healthiest food and work out every day, but if you do not deal with your shit.. no food in the world will make you healthy.

BELIEVE AND TRUST.

Believe in yourself and your values. Stand up for what you believe in, even when you are standing alone. Question your beliefs constantly, always with the intention of becoming a better human being.

ENERGY.

Choose people whose energy aligns with yours. And fuel your body properly.

KINDNESS AND GRATITUDE.

Be kind to yourself and to others. Be grateful for this life you have been given. Never underestimate the power of kind words and a grateful heart.

LOVE.

Oh boy.. Start with yourself. Never touch and never do anything with only half of your heart. Always SHOW people you love how much you love them.

One day your life will become a memory.

Make sure it is one that brings you peace when you look back.. one that makes you feel you truly lived.

‘You can’t give your life more time, so give the time you have left more life.’

This isn’t the only text. But today, it might be enough.
