‘People need to understand that their actions affect other people’s lives. So be careful what you say and do. It is not always just about you.’
Or do you behave as if everything were always about you?
I wish more people were willing to examine themselves and truly understand how their actions affect others. Because all of us affect each other.
And not only what you say and do, but also your UNSPOKEN FEELINGS, the things left undone, the things you deeply wanted to do but never did. Your actions and your inaction. Your spoken words and your silent words. And silence that hurts. Silence that feels like punishment. All of this affects, first of all, you, then the people around you, and eventually the entire course of your life.
Doing nothing is still a choice.
Just imagine the direction your life could have taken, as well as the lives of others, if you had honestly expressed your feelings to someone.. and you didn’t. And now it hurts. Or maybe you chose cruelty instead. And now it hurts.
We are all connected. And we all influence each other. Realize it.
Everything starts with honesty. You must first be honest with yourself, and then with others. Only then can you truly live in harmony with yourself. I call it the holy triangle: let your feelings and thoughts align with your words, and let your words align with your actions. Because integrity begins where pretence ends. And your intentions matter the most. Know them.
I wish more people were aware of this.
The world would become a more beautiful and easier place to live in. But it is not like that. People are not in harmony with themselves, nor are they honest with themselves, so how can they be honest with others?
So DON’T BE ONE OF THEM. And do not let them become your role models or the excuse you use to justify your own insincerity. That way you simply become one of them. Do not normalize the idea: ‘That’s just how people are.’ Do not become one of them.
So many unspoken feelings. So many fake friendships. So many relationships without sincere love. And all because people are dishonest. Dishonesty is one of the main causes of broken relationships.
And I know you are probably nodding your head because it all sounds logical.. but stop for a moment and ask yourself: are you honest? What influence do you have on other people? Do you live sincere love? Do you communicate everything honestly?
Now imagine this.. What if people started speaking honestly about everything they think, feel and do?
Now stop imagining other people. Imagine exchanging your phone with your partner. Even just for one hour.
The answer you give yourself will already tell you everything you need to know.
I believe the world would be on fire. Maybe another world war would begin. Fake friendships would end. Countless people would divorce or end their relationships. Who knows what else would be revealed.
As frightening as that sounds.. I actually think it would be wonderful. A proper reset. A fresh beginning. But this time, built on sincerity.
And that would be liberating for everyone. Because there is nothing worse than living a lie and allowing that lie to shape the lives of others.
So please be fucking honest with yourself and with others. Do not play emotional games with other people. There is nothing more cowardly than manipulating someone’s heart. Lies affect people. They hurt. And they create miserable lives.
Understanding the consequences of your actions on others can only improve lives. Pause before you speak. Pause before you act. Consider the ripple effects of your words, your actions and even your silence. Every action creates a reaction. Never forget that. And always ask yourself what intention lies behind your actions.
The truth is liberating.
And it takes so much energy to lie.. to live a double life. To create an image of yourself that you constantly have to maintain. It is nothing but a performance. A mask that eventually becomes heavier than the truth itself. And apart from not bringing anything good into your own life, it inevitably leaves a damaging impact on the lives of others.
I wish people could truly understand the freedom and liberation that come with being honest and genuine.
Hold yourself accountable. Be honest. Live with integrity. And take responsibility for the impact you leave behind.
This isn’t the only text. But today, it might be enough.
