‘And then my soul saw you and it kind of went ‘Oh there you are. I’ve been looking for you.”
We live in a world where people often connect on a superficial level, choosing partners with their eyes rather than their hearts. They focus on looks, quick swipes on dating apps and carefully curated images on social media instead of building deep bonds. And yet, many still long for true love and genuine emotional connection.
Superficial, weak connections are common, and physical attraction is easy to find.. yet it seems to me that people are becoming almost proud of being shallow, promoting superficial values as if they were something to aspire to. They work on their appearance while neglecting education and the work required to develop their minds, hearts and souls.
Shallow values seem increasingly popular. Social media and fast-paced culture reinforce them, encouraging people to display outer beauty rather than cultivate inner strength. Physical beauty gets quick likes and attention. Advertising, TV shows and movies often tell us that looks matter most. So why take the risk of deep feelings, genuine effort and emotional work? Looking good is simple.. and it brings quick validation with almost no emotional risk.
Dating apps, and not only dating apps.. can make people believe that a better option is always just one swipe away.
BUT.. good looks fade. A strong soul stays strong.
Remember: YOU DATE AT THE LEVEL OF YOUR SELF-ESTEEM AND MATURITY.
Having someone who speaks your soul language.. oh.. that rarely happens; it is kind of miraculous. And not only because so many people seek superficiality, but also because a deep emotional and mental connection requires vulnerability, shared life paths and profound honesty and understanding. And it would feel far less miraculous if every single person understood your soul language.
Not everyone will understand your inner world, and that is okay. Quick conversations fit busy modern life much better than long, deep talks. Superficial conversations feel safer for many people. No opening up, no vulnerability, no risk of getting hurt. But is that truly safer? Becoming shallow and emotionally disconnected while suppressing your deepest desires and needs?
Clicking with someone on the exact same wavelength can feel like chance, even serendipity.. but what happens next depends on both of you. A real connection is built intentionally. Connection is not just luck.
Someone who sparks your soul, who can reach your heart.. oh, that shit is rare. But in order to meet someone on that level.. you must work on yourself. You must heal your past wounds, or at least be willing to work through them, and build your self-worth first. You must dare to take risks.. and to wait. Inner work helps you recognize and hold space for a true soul bond when it finally appears.
What is essential is invisible to the eye. Look past the surface.
It seems so hard to find depth in people.. people who genuinely want to commit instead of playing games.
Dear, stop investing your time and love in people with poor communication who seek weak, superficial connections. Stop talking about wanting true, deep love while simultaneously accepting superficiality. And never settle for less than you give. Focus on real growth, deep bonds and high standards instead of chasing empty habits or quick fixes.
Do not hide from hard truths or dull your mind.
Start with yourself. What you see in others, you nurture in yourself. Work on yourself.. your values, your standards. Do not numb or dumb yourself down. Understand the difference, and the importance, of quality over quantity. Deep connection, not shallow distraction.
So.. when in doubt.. close your eyes and look with your heart. Only with the heart can you see rightly. Go there.
Wait for the one who feels like home. The one your soul recognizes as if you have known them your whole life.. or even from a past life. The one who makes you think: oh.. here you are! Where have you been hiding all this time? I am home. Finally.
