Choose wisely the people you surround yourself with, especially a partner, choose the one who is good for your mental health.
People mostly think of money when someone says ‘support someone’. OK, money IS important, because we live in a material world and you should always support others financially when you can.
But.. that is not the only support.. there are many ways in which people can be supported.
One of the most important ways, if not the most important one, and which is little talked about is mental, emotional support. The stigma around mental health is still huge.
You can have all the money in the world, but if you don’t have health.. nothing else is worth it.
That’s why it’s very important that you take care of your mental health.
Then to choose the people you surround yourself with who are good for your mental health. Emotional support.
Emotional support is crucial for our health. And health is the most important thing. Healthy brain, heart and soul, healthy body. Your peace has no price.
So choose people who give you a sense of peace, who are there as emotional support. People who are good for your soul and mind. There is no money in this world that can buy that.
Surround yourself with people you can learn from, grow with, talk about everything.
Simply, people with whom you can feel yourself, those who will stimulate all your senses, bringing out the best in you. To always be a better person. For yourself and for others.
That is why it is very important that you choose your partner carefully. Choose the one who brings you peace, not additional stress.
And don’t forget this: how you are treated is much more important than how much you want someone.
You need a partner with whom you can feel vulnerable but protected. Someone who tries to understand and doesn’t judge..
Someone who is there for you, with whom you can communicate about everything, especially when it’s uncomfortable but also when it’s ‘nonsense’ for you. You simply need to feel free to express yourself, always honestly, with respect and dignity, of course! And if someone interprets it in such a way that they think you want to fight, as an attack, or judge you, or they don’t try to understand, it brings nothing good and only further exhausts you. And just shows that they are not the right for you.
Love heals. Love doesn’t hurt. Don’t mix these two things.
We all have ups and downs, emotional crises, that is why it is very important that you are with someone who tries to understand and supports you, not someone who deepens the wounds.
Of course, this must go without saying for you as well. Give what you want to have.
I cannot emphasize enough that emotional support is vitally important for health.
