‘So many people in this world have trust issues because people say ‘I’m here for you’ and then run away as soon as things start to fall apart.’
How painfully true these words are. And how empty are the people who have nothing to offer except empty words.
Being abandoned in moments like these leaves deep emotional scars.
Many people say things simply because they sound beautiful, with no real intention of keeping their word. They don’t stand behind what they say.. and sometimes they tell the most beautiful fairy tales.
And then people stop believing in fairy tales.. when in reality, fairy tales do exist. You create them. They are real.. unlike many people.
The most beautiful fairy tales are not the ones you are told.. they are the ones you consciously create.
Many people say things because they SOUND good.. regardless of whether they are true. They tell people exactly what they want to hear, even when it is a lie.. leaving behind broken trust and unnecessary pain. And please.. spare me the idea of the ‘white lie’. A lie is still a lie. And manipulation remains manipulation.
Many people are neither honest nor genuinely kind. They do not show who they truly are. Instead.. they carefully say and do things to LEAVE AN IMPRESSION.. all in service of their own goals.
This is incredibly common, especially at the beginning of relationships.. and particularly romantic ones. Out of insecurity, people present what they believe is their best version, often exaggerating it while hiding who they really are. Or they desperately seek approval. It seems easier to project who they think the other person wants them to be rather than simply being their authentic selves.
They wear masks in the euphoria of ‘love’ and present an image designed to win someone over and be accepted. But sooner or later.. every mask falls. And you already know what usually happens next. The honeymoon phase — or infatuation — can be deeply intoxicating.
I don’t know whether you realize how unhealthy this is.. or how socially accepted it has become. It is so normalized that when someone genuinely authentic appears.. they often seem rude or arrogant simply because they refuse to pretend.
People are so used to living surrounded by lies and communicating through lies that when they encounter someone who is direct and honest.. authenticity itself begins to look suspicious, fake and even rude.
But listen.. I never like focusing on other people. You cannot change them. I always prefer coming back to ourselves. To you.
Because you can also be one of THOSE people. We all can. And you can change yourself.
So first of all.. check in with yourself.
If you promise something to someone, keep your word. If life gets in the way and disrupts your plans.. APOLOGIZE to the people who are waiting for you. Don’t simply disappear and leave them waiting.
Remember.. you were the one who offered something. So naturally.. they are waiting for you. Maybe you are their last ray of hope. They are counting on you.. because they TRUST YOU.
If they become angry because you could not do what you promised.. so be it. Their reaction is not yours to control. Your responsibility is to communicate honestly.. not to control how they respond.
That is called respect. And responsibility.
However.. if you do not keep your word.. you will not only lose their trust.. you will also lose your credibility and your dignity. Your actions define who you are.
If you say things just for the sake of saying them.. with no intention of keeping your word.. then keep your mouth shut!
And when it comes to love.. the moments when everything starts falling apart will show you whether that person truly belongs in your life or not.
Do not create illusions or false expectations. If you are not willing to walk through a dark tunnel with someone.. then do not make that tunnel even darker.
Live with integrity. It really is that simple. Yet.. for many people, it seems incredibly difficult. It should be simple.. but sadly, it isn’t.
So.. before you say or do anything, check in with yourself. Know your intentions. Come exactly as you are.. or do not come at all.
Everything begins with ourselves. Never use excuses such as ‘people are just like that’ to justify your own irresponsibility. The moment you do that.. you become exactly like them. And you are not like them.. are you?
Do not leave others with emotional scars because of your irresponsibility. Do not be another reason why someone has trust issues.
This isn’t the only text. But today, it might be enough.
