Do you not trust your partner? Or are you afraid of being cheated on? Are you afraid someone else will ‘steal’ them from you?

‘Dear ladies, you should never need to prove to other women that he’s in love with you. That’s his job!’

This is one of those sentences that seems simple, yet carries a surprising amount of complexity. It reflects hidden beliefs about relationships, public image and gender roles. Because of that, different people will interpret it in very different ways.

I want to explore it in depth and share my own perspective.. one that, in my opinion, applies to everyone.

First.. do not believe everything you read simply because you are going through a similar situation. Do not look for quotes that merely confirm your current beliefs or emotional state. Look for the ones that challenge them. The ones that make you stop and ask yourself whether those beliefs truly serve you and bring you peace. Because the goal is not to feel temporarily validated.. the goal is to change yourself and your life for the better.

Because you live according to your beliefs. Question them. Question yourself. Introspection is essential.

So if you believe someone needs to prove their love for you to OTHER PEOPLE.. let me ask you one question: Why? Why are other people and their opinions so important?

Shouldn’t you be the only person they need to show their love to every single day? Real love is shown through your own actions and your partner’s actions.. not by wasting energy trying to convince other people that your relationship is real.

So.. why are there others in that picture? What are you afraid of?

Do you need validation from other people? Are you showing off?

When someone feels the need to prove their relationship to other people, they usually care more about external validation than about the relationship itself. Why other people’s opinions matter so much in that situation is something only you can answer.

Do you not trust your partner? Or are you afraid of being cheated on? Are you afraid someone else will ‘steal’ them from you?

More often than not, that fear comes from your own insecurity.

Which brings me to the next question.. why would you choose to be with someone you do not trust? It is exhausting, and it keeps you trapped in a constant state of worry.

A partner with integrity cannot be stolen. A loyal partner makes a conscious choice to stay. People are not stolen.. they choose to leave. So in the end, it is about their choices, not about other people.

Only a person with integrity truly understands the value of loyalty, love and commitment. A person who respects themselves also understands the importance of respecting others.

Integrity creates a strong foundation for a relationship and allows deep trust to grow. You honour your commitment because it reflects who you are. When you truly value yourself, all of this becomes a natural expression of your character.

When someone approaches a person like that with romantic or physical intentions while they are already committed, they immediately set a clear boundary by saying: ‘No.’

That situation can happen. Strangers and acquaintances cannot know whether you are in a relationship just by looking at you. It is not written on your forehead.

How you or your partner respond to that situation says a lot about how both of you see yourselves and your relationship.

If they truly love and appreciate you, they will simply say they are not available. Not because they need to prove anything to anyone.. but because they want to protect the trust the two of you have built. They leave no room for mixed signals, false hope or emotional harm.

Their behaviour behind your back will always speak for itself. And it will speak about them. The same is true of yours.

You only need to be with someone who respects you, especially when you are not there to see it. Otherwise, without trust and respect, you will spend your relationship living in constant fear and doubt.

Isn’t that the kind of love you truly want?

When you truly trust your partner, other people’s opinions become nothing but background noise. You feel safe. You feel at peace. Trust is built through consistent actions, honest intentions and time.

In the end, the only people who truly matter are the two of you. How you see yourselves. How you respect each other. Your relationship should be a complete circle where no outside opinion has the power to define what exists between you.

When that happens, you will know you have found the right relationship. That circle is built on respect, trust, honesty and communication. That is love. Your relationship is your home.. not a train station where people come and go, nor an Instagram post searching for likes and approval.

Protecting your relationship from outside interference and the need for external validation is essential.

Be connected to the world.. but keep your partnership private and protected.

This isn’t the only text. But today, it might be enough.
