Love is not complicated

‘Love is not complicated.’

Love is not complicated. Life can be difficult — but love should not be. Do not project the chaos of life onto love. Life can be difficult, but real love brings peace within that difficulty.

A simple ‘rule’ for a healthy relationship is: We take care of ourselves, of each other, and of the relationship we are building together. End of story. Modern relationships become complicated mostly because people complicate them.

Relationships complicated?

Life complicated?

Love complicated?

Says who???

No, dear.. none of this is naturally complicated.

Do you think relationships are complicated? Do you think life is complicated? Is love complicated to you?

No, none of this needs to be complicated.

IT WILL ONLY BE AS COMPLICATED AS YOU THINK IT IS.. AND AS COMPLICATED AS YOU MAKE IT.

Things become as complicated as the fears, assumptions and confusion you build around them — especially the moment you stop being honest.

First of all, what does complicated actually mean to you? What is really behind it?

Because ‘complicated’ is not the same as ‘difficult’.

Life can be hard while still remaining simple.

It can be complex but not necessarily complicated.

Relationships are not complicated, although they will absolutely have difficult moments. Real love feels easy, not complicated. And you can love someone without liking everything about that person.

Because love is acceptance.

That is why whenever someone says: ‘Our relationship or marriage is complicated.’

I always want to ask: What exactly is complicated?

And every single time I go deeper into that conversation — if there is mutual willingness, of course — behind almost every ‘complication’ lies either fear, avoidance or dishonesty.

And then instead of taking responsibility for themselves and their actions.. people hide behind: ‘It’s complicated.’

It becomes easier to escape, avoid reality and simply say: ‘Love is complicated.’

No, dear.. some disease can have complications.. but not the things that depend on you.. your relationship should not become one.

If something depends on you and you do nothing to make it easier while constantly saying:
‘It’s complicated’.. then you are the one complicating things — not that things are complicated. Not life, not love, not the relationship.. but you.

For example: long-distance relationships.

Some people will say: ‘It didn’t work because long-distance relationships are complicated.’

And then there are people whose distance deepened the love and strengthened the relationship even more.

It means that long-distance relationships are not complicated by themselves. ‘It’s complicated’ often becomes an excuse to walk away from what people no longer want to nurture.

A long-distance relationship comes with many challenges.. yes. But no challenge should be stronger than the mutual desire to stay together.

When there is a will, there is a way.

People complicate everything.. the moment honesty disappears.

Lack of communication. Lack of honesty. Lack of respect. Lack of responsibility.

That is where ‘it’s complicated’ is born.

It happens when people refuse to face reality. When they live in fear, trapped inside their heads with assumptions, overthinking and imaginary scenarios they slowly start believing as truth.

Or when they choose illusion over reality.

Or when partners stop being partners and start becoming therapists, parents or emotional rescuers.

You know.. things can be complex, but not complicated.

Get out of your head and reconnect with yourself.

Be honest with yourself.. because that is the only way you can truly be honest with others.

Life is already difficult enough — stop making it emotionally complicated.

Keep your life simple.

And when things become complex.. break problems down to their core. Simplicity brings clarity, and clarity brings solutions.

This isn’t the only text. But today, it might be enough.
