‘Unhealed trauma blocks intuition.’
Tune into yourself. Heal so you can learn to differentiate between your intuition guiding you and your traumas misleading you. Trauma responses can disguise themselves as intuition.
I will try to simplify this and help.. because this is a very important subject, yet very complex.
Let’s face facts: we all have ‘traumas’.
I do not like to use the word ‘trauma’ a lot.. because it is used, misused and abused. And I do not like generalizing trauma because painful experiences can look very different for everyone. Our bodies react differently to things that cause trauma, too.
What makes a huge difference is the impact trauma has on our lives, and that depends on how we deal with traumatic experiences, how we understand them and what happens within us as a result of them.
But first of all.. we must become aware of what is happening inside our bodies and minds.. because everyone can heal from trauma.. as long as there is awareness and consciousness.
For instance, someone hurt you by lying to you and emotionally abused you. For some people, that creates trauma which can deeply affect the way they experience future relationships and life itself.
This is where our responses begin to differ, because we will not all react the same way.. therefore, the course of life will be different for everyone.
One trauma response that may develop, which prevents the healthy flow of energy and blocks intuition, is that some people stop trusting others, believing that this is how they will protect themselves.
Always being on guard for danger.
Therefore, if that is your case.. it means you did not truly work on recognizing the symptoms, understanding the cause of the trauma and healing it, but instead automatically listened to your mind and fears with the intention of protecting yourself.
What you do not understand is that you are not actually protecting yourself.. you are harming yourself.
That is trauma speaking through fear telling you to close your heart.
When you close your heart, you will start losing connection with yourself, your intuition and your feelings.. or you will simply start ignoring them.
Your mind will tell you that you should not feel this or that, shaming you for what you feel. Shame will not change the fact and everything you feel is a natural response to what you have been through.
On the other hand.. some people will recognize this, remain conscious and continue trusting others. Because we are not all the same.
However, they will be more careful.
This is the only real and healthy way of coping and healing, because you become more aware of yourself and others.
Also, you become aware that you will not avoid similar situations in the future, nor change others.. but you are the one who is changing. Therefore you understand that closing yourself off will not protect you from life and it does not prevent pain.
Then there will be those who continue trusting others.. but blindly. Regardless of bad previous experiences, they will continue getting hurt again and again.
As a consequence, they will usually blame others, equating being good with being stupid. And there should never be an equal sign between kindness and stupidity.
And that itself is a trauma response.
You are responsible for yourself.
Do not close your heart, but learn from your painful experiences. Some situations and people will keep repeating themselves. Some will hurt you and some will trigger unhealed wounds.
And if you do not heal, you will continue believing that everyone is hurting you. Every trigger will feel like proof that others are the problem. You will start believing we are all the same.
That is why awareness and facing your ‘traumas’ are so important.
