‘You can’t put a crown on a clown and expect a king or a queen.’
Unless you’re in a circus and looking to be entertained. But in relationships.. it won’t be entertaining — it will be exhausting.
Because..
It may seem like you’re asking for too much.. like you’re forcing or expecting someone to be something they are not. But the truth is — you’re not asking for too much if you give what you ask for.. rather, you’re simply asking the wrong person. And you cannot force someone to be who they are not.
And this is important to understand: there is no forcing in love. There is acceptance. There are no expectations — there is giving, and there are boundaries. You don’t change people. You accept them as they are, and from that place, you decide what to do next.
So..
Don’t fall in love with potential. Accept and love reality.
You can’t build a kingdom with a pawn or a clown. This does not mean that a king or a queen is good and the pawn or clown is bad.. this means that you two are not on the same level. You don’t share the same vision.
Simply put — you don’t have the same standards, values, or direction. And that doesn’t mean the clown cannot grow or evolve and reach your level.. but that is up to them. If they want to. If they see the point.
People change when they choose to. And they should do it for themselves — not to meet someone else’s expectations.
You cannot force someone to raise their standards if they are not ready.
The person you choose as your partner affects everything in your life. Your health. Your future. Your peace.. literally everything.
So choose wisely. Know what kind of relationship you want. Know how you want to be treated.
Set your standards. Work on yourself. And wait — for someone who naturally meets you there.
Don’t waste your time trying to raise someone who behaves like an irresponsible, immature, spoiled child. And don’t behave like one yourself.
If your love feels draining.. this might be one of the reasons.
And most importantly — make sure you are that person you wish to have in your life. Don’t expect a king or a queen if you are acting like a clown. And vice versa.
If you want a king or a queen in your life.. then you must act like one.
You must BE the one.
