Funny and somehow true. Let me tell you more about love.. from my experiences. As always.
People think they love you when they feel comfortable around you.. which definitely is one of the prerequisites for love and relationship.. but only if they love you for who you are giving you back the same.. which very often is not the case. They forget that love in relationships must go both ways..
They usually “love” only those parts of you that make them feel good about themselves.
In other words, they “love” you for their needs of you and not for who you are. Remember that we all need love. To give and to receive.
There’s nothing more beautiful than being around someone who feels so familiar.. who feels so easy to you and who let you be yourself without judging or projecting on you any kind of expectations.
Only free spirits can do that.. and people who know how to love themselves, treating others the way they would like to be treated.
And my dear.. these kinds of people are very rare. you will feel as if you have found a treasure.
So, when you meet them.. you simply want them around, thinking that’s it.. that’s love. You think you love them and they have to be ‘yours’ so they can continue making you feel that way..
And the only thing here is love are they.. they are love. Because love is acceptance. They accepted you as you are. They don’t expect anything from you. They know that love is free. You are free to choose to whom you will give your love, but so are they.
What happens next.. is that, usually, many people won’t know how to love them back properly.. just because.. usually, they don’t know how to love themselves in the first place. Or they define love in a very wrong way.. like possession..
Please, don’t be a Gollum.
So, they will try to cage those people, starting to “love” them in a very possessive way like they own them. Instead of learning to fly, they will try to bring them down to their level. And that, dear, is everything, but love. You love the idea of them, but you can’t handle the reality of them. You lack maturity.. among other things.
Don’t cut someone’s wings just because you don’t want to learn to fly. Don’t steal their peace and energy.
Don’t tarnish their aura for your selfish reasons. Don’t bother them if you’re not ready to love them the way they should be loved. open your heart and mind and step up your game. Be brave and learn to follow your heart and to overcome fears. But first of all.. be that rare one.. be that love you wish to receive.
