Emotional pain cannot kill you but running from it can

‘Emotional pain cannot kill you but running from it can. Allow it. Embrace it. Let yourself feel. Let yourself heal.’

There is nothing wrong with feeling sad or angry. It is okay not to feel okay, just like it is okay to feel okay.

We are human beings, not robots, and life surprises us with all kinds of different situations.

Remember that:

we need to allow ourselves to feel what we feel. We need to live in alignment with our feelings! If you need to cry, then cry. Do you suppress your laughter? So.. DON’T suppress your tears either.

Very often people avoid facing their pain by keeping themselves constantly busy and distracted. Keeping themselves occupied with everything and everyone.. just not with themselves.

Work can sometimes help us avoid overthinking. It can help distract the mind temporarily. But escaping your feelings will never truly help you. In fact.. it can become deeply self-destructive. And self-destruction leads nowhere good.

Yes, sitting alone in silence and with your own thoughts can sometimes feel unbearable. All that noise inside the mind, the feelings of anxiety, sadness, the endless chain of unproductive thoughts.. it often feels like your mind turns silence into torture. It seems like your own mind is working against your peace.

But you are the one who is in charge and should control your mind instead of the opposite.

No, being alone with yourself is not easy.. but it is necessary. It is necessary to take control of your own mind.. instead of constantly running away from it.. to allow yourself to fully experience what you are going through, in order to understand yourself and learn how to help yourself heal properly.

To learn how to accept yourself and love yourself without judging who you are.

Because everything we avoid facing remains within us as negative energy.. and it will slowly reflect on both our mental and physical health. While at the same time we are teaching ourselves how to react – and that becomes the emotional pattern we repeat in future similar situations we may encounter.

Most addictions begin as an escape from pain or from the desire to numb it.. and unresolved pain is very often the reason behind them.

For example, people who drink excessively, abuse substances, people who struggle with compulsive behaviors, overeating, obesity.. Addiction is never something harmless or fun. It slowly destroys people from within. It is often the consequence of accumulated emotional wounds and pain people never truly face. Accumulated frustration and emotional suffering.

And obesity, when it is not caused by illness or hormonal conditions, can very often be deeply connected to emotional burdens carried within. Emotional eating. You literally eat your emotions through food. You are feeding emotional pain instead of healing it. Once you release the emotional weight inside you, the physical weight often begins to change as well.

It is important to understand.. accepting your pain, sitting with it and looking it straight in the face, is never easy. For any of us. You will probably want to punch your pain straight in the face for making your life difficult.. I know. But do not fight your pain.. pain is not your enemy. Accept it. Surrender to it.

Do not feed your own pain, by creating unnecessary suffering.. Learn from it instead of resisting it. Allow yourself to grow through it.

Give yourself time to process everything, to digest what life or people put you through. Help yourself heal.

There is no single way to heal because we are all different. However, this should be the same for all of us — deal with it in a healthy way and find a healthy way that genuinely works for you.

Find someone you can openly talk to, but most importantly, talk honestly with yourself. Go to the root of your pain. Find what is truly causing it, face it and understand it. Be patient with your healing process.

Connect deeply with yourself instead of abandoning yourself. Never run away from how you feel. Avoidance is not healing.

Remember: In the end, you always meet yourself again. You cannot escape yourself. Ne-va’.
