‘A tidy house helps a tidy mind.’
Disclaimer: no, I’m not talking here about extreme cleaning, obsessive behaviour or spaces that look like laboratories. Simply put, you should not be a slave to your mind. You should help it relax. Clean spaces help with that too. I hope you understand the difference.
Your house is a reflection of your mental state.
A tidy house often reflects a tidy mind.
Oh my unicorn, when I see quotes like: ‘A clean house is a sign of a wasted life’.. followed by a bunch of comments confirming it and making fun of people who keep their homes clean and tidy.. they don’t even realize they are laughing at themselves.
FIRST: Quotes like that are often used by people trying to justify their lack of responsibility. Because that’s what it is: responsibility towards yourself and your life. So they look for confirmation from people who are similar to them.. who, of course, will simply confirm that they are right and, quite often, make fun of those who like their homes to be tidy.
SECOND: It is obvious that their lack of understanding speaks about them. And perhaps their education too, allow me to say.
They don’t understand how closely connected a clean home is to them. One of the things it reveals is how they deal with life itself and how they approach the obstacles they encounter.
That’s already psychology.. which is obviously not their domain.
A tidy house goes far beyond aesthetic appearance. It can positively impact your mental state and overall well-being.
To simplify things, just look around.
If someone has a disorganized and untidy living space.. chances are they are very disorganized in other areas of life as well. If you leave drawers, wardrobes and cupboards open, you often do the same with things in life — starting them and leaving them unfinished.
You have three homes: your body, your house and Planet Earth. Take care of all three of them. Keep them clean and tidy.
Help your body relax in a clean home. The effects are incredible. The peace you feel, for example.
If you declutter your home, you will find that it benefits your life on many levels.
Clean your house. Get rid of clothes you don’t wear, things that are superfluous and clutter the space. Organize your environment and let fresh air in. Let healthy energy flow through your home.
And another thing I discovered about cleaning..
I’ve realized that cleaning helps me not only organize my home, but also organize my mind. It’s like meditation in motion.
So.. as much as I don’t like cleaning, I love a clean home. Simply, I love my mind to feel clear and clean. I love feeling relaxed.
Because a clean and calm mind sees clearly.
And it feels so good when everything is clean and organized. Less stress. More relaxation. A more peaceful environment. More space to focus on what truly matters.
Speaking of hygiene, let’s not forget mental hygiene.
And cleaning your space can help with mental hygiene.
So let’s not forget to practice mental hygiene as well, by also removing from your life anything or anyone that pollutes your peace, drains your energy and damages your well-being.
This isn’t the only text. But today, it might be enough.
